Your shoebox gift will be an expression of God’s love to a child. It may be the only gift the child receives. Plan to fill your shoebox with quality new items that will last. When packing your shoebox think; FUN, adding a ‘wow’ item and new toys a child will love; FULL, with no empty space; and PERSONALISED, including a note of encouragement or photo.
Decorate a shoebox about the size of an A4 piece of paper. If you want to wrap it, cover the box and lid separately.
You can also order pre-printed shoeboxes in packs of 25.
Decide whether you will pack a box for a girl or a boy, and the age category: 2–4, 5–9, or 10–14.
Select a ‘wow’ item, such as a doll, soccer ball with pump, or stuffed animal. Then fill your shoebox with fun toys, clothing, hygiene items and schools.
Most importantly, pray for the child who will receive your gift. You can also include a personal note and photo.
To make sure your shoebox gift gets to a child of the right gender and age, order a label for each of your shoeboxes here. You also have the option to Follow Your Box and discover the destination of your shoebox gifts. Labels offer a way for you to give the necessary $12.50 donation per shoebox to provide for collection, processing, shipping, and other project costs.
Hundreds of drop off locations are open around Australia and New Zealand during National Collection Weeks. Locations will be announced early October.
